Above see my 6 beautiful grandchildren, 5 of them have gone back to school and 1 is very sad looking and won't look at Grammy when I tried to take his picture. Cyrah started high school, Matt is in 5th grade, Joe is in 3rd grade, Zach is in 1st grade and so is the little cutie pie dressed in pink, Chloe. The person who you don't see a picture of going back to school is ME!!! My first "back to school" in 28 years and I didn't have to go. Instead I went to see the boys go to their school, I didn't have to ask anyone's permission, I didn't have to worry about how long I was gone and I felt pretty darn good about it.
I think the kids were all ready to get things started again. That was always the way I felt about it, "let's get going, so we can get finished." They all had really nice vacations ~ busy, busy, busy. So far, they are all enjoying their classes. Cyrah has had a great 2 weeks in high school, Chloe is reading every night and the boys are happy to all be in the same school and getting to see each other at recess.
Benji is a little lonesome, but he sees his cousin Noah on Tuesdays and he comes over to Grammy's all day on Wednesdays, so I think he's doing okay with the change also. Benji is a very talkative little boy, he began talking quite a bit earlier that his brothers and he's to the why? stage right now. I think he would probably love pre-school when he's 3 but who knows if that is going to happen.
As for me, I am totally a retired person now. It seems totally natural and I can't say I think about school much at all. I have some really close friends who are still there and I keep in touch with them but all in all it was a nice place to visit (for 28 years) but all good things (and sometimes not so good things) come to an end!!!
My thought to leave with you today is: For everything there is a season and having a routine helps kids and adults to be the best they can be!!
Until next time . . .
